Choose the Support Format That Works for You

Walk-ins are welcome, and appointments are available through Starfish. Students may meet with a consultant in person, connect virtually, or request written feedback. We recommend you schedule in-person sessions first to get to know the consultants you will be working with.

In-Person Appointments

Meet face-to-face with a peer consultant on the third floor of the LARC. In-person sessions are a good choice when you want to talk through ideas and collaborate with a consultant in real time. This is the best way to start your relationship with the Writing Center!

  • Available in 30- or 60-minute sessions
  • Helpful for papers, presentations, and longer projects
  • Recommended for brainstorming and revision support
  • Walk-ins are welcome when consultants are available
In Starfish, select the in-person Writing Center location when scheduling.

Virtual Appointments

Meet with a consultant online through Microsoft Teams or Zoom and discuss your work in real time from a location that is convenient for you.

  • Available in 30- or 60-minute sessions
  • Share your screen or send your document by email
  • Receive live feedback and ask questions
  • A stable internet connection is recommended
In Starfish, select either “Virtual (Teams)” or “Virtual (Zoom).” Your consultant will send the meeting link before your session.

Written Feedback

Receive written suggestions from a consultant without attending a live meeting. This option is useful when you want feedback saved directly in a document or cannot attend an appointment in real time. We encourage you to use this as a last resort, and sign up for synchronous virtual or in person sessions first so you can collaborate with our consultants on your work.

  • Submit a Word document or PDF
  • Include your assignment instructions when available
  • Consultants typically review up to six pages per appointment
  • For longer projects, identify the pages you want reviewed
In Starfish, select “Written Feedback.” Send your draft and assignment materials according to the instructions from your consultant.

Our Approach

Our consultants do more than proofread. We work with writers in identifying areas for improvement, understanding feedback, developing revision strategies, and strengthening communication skills they can use in future assignments. We want to empower you through every aspect of the writing process.

We welcome writers of every experience level and value the knowledge, language, and strengths each student brings to the writing process. We also support students working on collaborative and group projects.

Accessibility and Accommodations

The Writing Center strives to create accessible spaces and learning opportunities for all students. Available accommodations may include extended appointment times, captions for virtual sessions, sign language interpreting, and other forms of support.

The Disability Resource and Support Center can also assist with accommodations for university courses and programs. Call 719-549-2648 or email dro@csupueblo.edu.
